Penis Envy

The man who brought the American tobacco industry 'penis envy'  was Sigmund Freud's American nephew Edward Bernays.

He was the corporatcoracy's own Merlin creating magic for the the phony democracy that the Anglo-American empire is now busy 'exporting' around the world.
He is the founder of a propaganda effort of gargantuan proportions.

He was the 'godfather' of the military-industrial complex who believed he knows you better than you know yourself.

The originator of the term Public Relations, Bernays special contribution has been to help turn the citizens of the world into passive consumers by adding insights of Uncle Sigmund to wartime propaganda.

The problem of unthinking consumerism in America and everywhere in the sphere of influence of capitalist globalism owes much to Edward Bernays.

The War On Shopping is an insurgency against Bernays influence and a counter-revolution to the psychoanalytic manipulation of the 'group mind'... which now thanks to this man is the mindless consumerism of mass hypnosis.

What interests me is that while Bernays and his descendants have had a massive impact on consumption patterns around the world, some have not been touched by this exercise in mass hypnosis.

What makes some people NOT susceptible to this mind control propaganda is to me the really interesting part of this story.

How did these anti-capitalists that have existed in the heart of capitalism ever come about and how did their consent avoid being 'engineered' in the way that many others did not?

Almost everything we identify with America and Americanism is the invention of Edward Bernays and a few other advertising executives like early behaviourist John B Watson, who worked on 'conditioning' US consumers to believe in and to buy Ponds cold cream.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_B._Watson

The only way we can resist this manipulation of our unconscious is first to know it is happening and why?

The history of corporate power starts with a deconstruction of the politics of persuasion and that deconstruction starts with Edward Bernays.

Bernay's most extreme political propaganda activities were said to be conducted on behalf of the multinational corporation United Fruit Company (today's Chiquita Brands International) and the U.S. government to facilitate the successful overthrow (see Operation PBSUCCESS) of the democratically elected president of Gautemala, Jacobo Arbenz Guzman in 1954.
His PR offspring are working on the Honduras coup on behalf of President Obama today, but let's call it by it's old name....propaganda and then we can properly put Mr Obama's public utterances on this matter into some sort of meaningful perspective, I think.

A comment on the bullet pic above: I wonder why bullets oddly resemble penises and the more powerful the bullet, the longer? LOL ;)

They couldn't be shaped like vagina's Glitch, they'd make a terrible mess, the Geneva Conventions would never allow that. Peace AA
